Mom & Baby Yoga
The Mom & Baby class is currently not being held. Please join our mailing list for updates! Thank you!
Regain strength and flexibility, bond with your baby and connect with other moms!
Enjoy gentle stretching with core and pelvic floor toning while integrating your baby into the practice. Learn to quiet the mind and find serenity as you get fit and gain confidence. In each class we also take a moment to share our journeys with other new moms in the spirit of support and community.
All babies from 6 weeks to newly-crawling are welcome.
How soon after your baby is born should you come to Mom & Baby Yoga?
The answer to that is up to you. In yogic tradition, and in many indigenous cultures, women stay home with their precious newborns for 40 days after birth. This time is a sacred celebration where the home is kept peaceful and quiet and visitors are limited to only the mother’s closest relatives whose job it is to nurture the postpartum woman by providing delicious meals and teas, and to take care of all the household duties so she can heal, rest, nurse her lovely baby, and maintain almost constant physical contact with her baby. This magical time allows mother and child to develop a strong heart connection to one another while giving the baby ample time to adjust to life outside the womb in the gentlest way possible.
So keeping this in mind, use your intuition and journey out into the world with your amazing baby when you feel ready. For many new moms, coming to a Mom & Baby Yoga class is a safe and manageable first outing and the fact that you can come in your pjs is an added bonus! Just bring yourself, your baby and your diaper bag! Be gentle with yourself and enjoy the precious and magical first few weeks with your little one. Try your best to arrive on-time but if you’re a few minutes late, we won’t hold it against you. We understand how tricky it can be to get out of the house with a baby in-tow!
Prenatal Yoga Testimonials
I absolutely loved taking prenatal yoga at 2B Well!! It was so nice to go every week and spend time with a wonderful group of ladies who knew exactly what aches and pains I was experiencing. I began prenatal yoga with no expectations other than a time to myself each week to relax and focus on my baby girl. After a few classes I realized it was so much more. I was able to have a successful VBAC and I am certain that the breathing techniques and positions taught by Denise were key factors in that success. I would highly recommend the prenatal class to anyone at any stage of their pregnancy. You will not be disappointed!!
Denise is great! She is very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I like how she walks around the room and helps with poses individually. Yoga has helped ease my stress and the physical discomforts of pregnancy. I’ve also really enjoyed the discussions we have at the beginning and end of each class which have helped me connect with the other women. The increased flexibility, the stretching and breathing exercises, and the positive and encouraging words stated at the end of each class have greatly prepared me for labor and delivery.
Love it! Love how my body feels. Love being less stressed. Love Denise. I have never done yoga before and I feel like she explains everything beautifully. I am less nervous for childbirth because I feel my body is prepared and is made to handle it. It’s also fun to be around others who are going through the same thing. On yoga days I go home happier and more flexible about life’s changes. Even my husband notices. He loves yoga days because my attitude is so positive after!
